axr ganzin chardonnay 2017
Ganzin is a reference to Victor Ganzin who is credited with the hybridization of the AxR1 rootstock. The AXR rootstock was the origin of the research which gave vintners an understanding of the influence of a rootstock on wine and a vines capacity to adapt to the soil. To us, Ganzin Chardonnay represents the crossing between traditional winemaking and modern technology paying homage to the soul of AXR. This Chardonnay spent 16 months in 30% new French oak to respect the fragile profile of the Burgundy clones that we use.
