the growing season of 2017 we describe as an extreme vintage. big rains, big heat spells and then a fire. thankfully most of our fruit was in before the fires of 2017 and as we say in french, “without struggle; there is no glory”. in 2017, we had plenty of struggles but the quality of the vintage is stunning

tasting notes:
on the rim: deep, dark eggplant with touches of black cherry on the rim

one the nose: beautiful cedar, dark chocolate, cherry, graphite, pencil shavings, licorice, tulip, plum, cinnamon and roast beef

on the palate: soft, velvety entrance evolving on a sweet fruit mid-palate with rose and cassis candy lingering on a fresh finish with touches of red currant and fine tannins
