Crown Point vineyard in the Happy Canyon AVA is located 11 miles east of the pacific ocean and nestled between the Santa Ynez and San Rafael mountain ranges. The coastal fog of Santa Ynez protects this vineyard from the afternoon sun and the erosion from the San Rafael mountains integrates volcanic rock with the sandy soil creating the right balance of stress on the vines. The Crown Point vineyard produces some of the darkest blackest fruit from Santa Barbara.

on the rim: deep, shiny garnet with touches of ruby and geranium on the rim

on the nose: delicate pencil shavings and cedar oak with touches of dried herbs like Italian seasons and Herbs de Provence, with blackberry and licorice, linger on chocolate, cranberry and cinnamon

on the palate: an entrance of beautiful red cherry, dry cranberry and tulips with plum and distinct nuttiness evolving on granular tannins and touches of cherry liqueur, lingering on a blue fruit reduction with dark chocolate, sage and licorice.
