A nod to the legacy of Victor Ganzin, a pioneer in viticulture. Playful, versatile, bright and refreshing are perfect descriptors for this minerality entwined Sauvignon Blanc. An ancient seabed cools the scorching ash of volcanic eruption thick in the air, as the sea retreated and the earth slowly cooled, this set the stage for an incredible vineyard millions of years later. Pockets of tufa and sandy goldridge soils descend into bench lands leading to the Russian River, bestowing this site with the ability to produce singular wines of intensity and intrinsic acidity

A crisp and aromatic white wine with a strong presence in its native Switzerland, Doral is a light-bodied wine fermented dry. It shares the red apple, melon, vanilla, and pear characteristics common in both of its parent grapes, Chasselas and Chardonnay. The conservative use of oak in fermentation and aging accents the Doral’s natural aromatics and minerality.

Chardonnay has a long and storied history in California. Once again taking the name of historic viticulturist Victor Ganzin, this Chardonnay binds traditional winemaking philosophy and the revolutionary technology we engage today. Even though this is a narrow path to tread, in making this wine we attempt the journey. Endeavoring to adhere to the lessons learned from our forerunners while demonstrating the innovative techniques that have become the staple of Napa Valley oenology.

As our winemaker Jean is from Switzerland, he has a special affinity for the native grape varieties of his homeland. This European grape has been transmuted through new world wine making techniques to become a medium bodied wine with brooding dark fruit components and a use of oak that complements the natural flourish of baking spice innate to this variety.

The ripe fruits of early autumn are abundantly distributed throughout this Pinot Noir, that hails from the captivating fogs of the Petaluma Gap. It will transport your senses to the tranquil Northern California forest surrounded by native berries, wild herbs and freshly fallen foliage.

Named for the men upon which the foundation of AXR was built, also known as the "FAB4": Kelly Trevethan, Mark Schratz, Don Van Laeken, and Winemaker/Partner Jean Hoefliger. This blend is constructed of grape varieties that shine in each vintage, while maintaining a remarkable consistency in style, year after year.

In 1879 AxR1 rootstock was created by Victor Ganzin. Although it was not the long-term success that many thought it would be, the legacy lives on today in our lineup of “Ganzin” wines. Our Bordeaux style blend presents soft textures and fresh-picked fruit qualities with persistence and focus.
